Harrisburg takes down Madison
SIOUX FALLS—The Harrisburg Woodies scored the final six runs on Friday to defeat Madison, 6-4, in a Class B amateur baseball state tournament game.
Trailing 4-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Brody Kunzman hit a sacrifice fly to drive in the Woodies' first run of the game. Aaron LaBrie hit an RBI single during the next at-bat, followed by a game-tying two-run single from Kyle Rozeboom a couple of batters later.
In the sixth, Mark Abrahamson crushed a two-run home run over the right field wall, giving Harrisburg a 6-4 lead.
Abrahamson, LaBrie and Andela all had two hits, helping Harrisburg outhit Madison, 6-4. LaBrie earned the win as he struck out nine over six shutout innings to end the game.
Heith Williams had a team-high two hits for Madison, while Nick Bird hit a two-run home run in the fourth. On the mound, Brock Selgestad struck out 13 and allowed six runs (two earned) over an eight-inning start.
