LETTER: Voters can do better than Noem
To the Editor:
Did Kristi Noem's attack ads smearing Billie Sutton's character really surprise anyone? She's shown us that she ia a willing promoter of all the false narratives intended to provoke fear, division, and persuade people to vote against their own self-interests.
Here's a couple of examples: The black man in the White House did not "destroy life as we know it." The stimulus was not "failed." We didn't have a depression and the deficit was coming down. Obamacare is not socialized medicine. It's private companies contracted to provide coverage. Costs were coming down, pre-existing conditions are covered, and lives are being saved.
Consider this, 90 percent of the country's wealth is owned by 10 percent of the population —
the group that benefited most from the tax cuts — while $1 trillion is projected to be added to the deficit. Money is power. Apparently, limited government means power for a few at the expense of the many. Future generations, Medicare, and Medicaid are the big losers.
This is nasty business. We can do better.
